On April 10th, Alexey Shaburov, General Manager of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy, together with two more members of the Project Team, Lyudmila Kulanina and Dmitry Savelyev, visited the Russian State Archives of Ancient Documents. The Archives contain antique handwritten scrolls and original manuscripts of all historic epochs of Russia.
Mikhail Ryzhenkov, the Master of Archives, agreed to grant some unique handwritten Slavic and Russian scripts to be displayed within the framework of the event. Thus, the exhibition will demonstrate the evolution of the country’s writing system from the 11th century to the present day.
Calligraphy is the art of both ideal writing and an ideal soul.
