Courses for Kids Start at the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy

On October 20, the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy opened courses for kids on the art of beautiful handwriting.

More and more parents are realizing the importance of good and legible handwriting in the modern age. Despite the increased use of digital technology in many environments, digital alternatives to pen and paper cannot completely replace writing by hand. Calligraphy skills are not only needed in class. They have a role in character development, helping improve focus and concentration, boost creative and critical thinking, sharpen the brain, develop a sense of aesthetic beauty, and be more organized and neat.

This year, alongside the already successful Penmanship and Cursive courses for kids 7 to 9 and 10 to 12 years of age respectively, a course has been launched for kids and their parents called “Fine Handwriting”. The practice of letting parents and children work together has shown to be beneficial. Not only do parents get a chance to write with a fountain pen, like in the old days, they do also help their sons and daughters learn better by setting an example for them. Young students will learn new skills in a way that is fun and encourages friendly competition.

Learning from the talented instructors, Ekaterina Orfanova and Artyom Lebedev, will be a source of great joy for the participants. This fall, Ekaterina and Artyom have prepared interesting topics for their classes, original classroom materials and worksheets, and fun and creative exercises.

We wish our participants every success with the course!

For those eager to dive into the world of beautiful letters, we have great news: you can still join our course on Cursive Italic!
