Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy. Everything about the handwritten book

On February 27, at 12.40 the Kultura TV channel will screen an item of the “Pryanichny Domik” (“Gingerbread Cottage”) TV show dedicated to manuscript books. The item was shot in the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy.

The show presenter Yevgeny Kulakov will tell about the history of handwritten books, and member of the National Union of Calligraphers Artyom Lebedev will describe pointed pen calligraphy and hold a workshop on this elegant and refined kind of writing.

We invite everyone to visit the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy – the only Russian museum dedicated to the art of fine writing. In the Museum you will have a chance to see such unique exhibits as the Handwritten Constitution of the Russian Federation; the Tzar Mezuzah (the only calligraphy work listed in the Guinness Book of World Records); “The First Translation” by Vyatka calligrapher Andrey Drachenkov”; and many more.
