Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy enhances it research potential

A member of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy team Elena Kulanina has defended her dissertation “Contemporary calligraphy as a sociocultural phenomenon” with distinction in MGIMO on December 9. With a few article theses underway, Elena continues her research planning to earn a doctor of cultural studies degree in the field of calligraphy. Every day the museum makes important steps in the development of museum activity through looking for new exhibits and researching.

It is worth reminding that the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy owns an expert opinion certifying that “the artworks from Alexey Shaburov’s collection made by contemporary artists and designers are original and unique works of artistic and cultural value, and are eligible to be included in the privately owned section of the Russian Federation museum collection.” This certification has a vital importance for it designates both the museum’s, and the calligraphers’ status.
