A representative delegation from the People's Republic of China visited the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, and Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre on June 21, 2019.
The delegation included Vice President of the Chinese Scientific Association of International Friends, former Ambassador of China to Bahrain and Nepal U Congyong; Director of the Traditional Arts Committee of the Association of Culture Contributing Enterprises Lü Wenbin; Director of the Academy of Chinese Monochrome Painting and Calligraphy Feng Hai and Senior Secretary of the same Wang Jialin; Research Associate of the Chinese National Academy of Painting, and Senior Secretary of the Institute of Calligraphy and Printing, Chinese National Academy of Painting Ceng Xiang; 1st Category National Artist and member of the Chinese Association of Artists Zhang Ming; member of the Chinese Association of Artists and head of Taihu Academy of Arts Kuai Huizhong; 1st Category National Artist and member of the Chinese Association of Artists Liu Jiangfeng; Chinese Association of Calligraphers Training Centre Professor, and laureate of national exhibitions Zhang Dongming; and employees of Beijing International Cultural Communications Group – Goi Jindian, photographer Xie Donghui, and assistant artist Ma Dandan.
The guests were excited to take a tour of the extensive exhibition in the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, making a specific mention of the high level of artworks made by Chinese calligraphers, and also saw the new museum exhibit – The Thirty Six Stratagems essay, a canon of military art from the Ancient China. This particular copy was made by the Rare Book from Saint Petersburg publishing house.
Following the museum visit, the guests took another tour in an exhibit hall of Sokolniki Museum and Educational Complex, which is due to hold the Great Chinese Calligraphy and Painting exhibition this September.
