Chinese Art and Calligraphy Exhibition

Chinese Art and Calligraphy Exhibition by Hong Kong-born NZ artists Lillian Ko & Alan NG.

Alan and Lillian wish to take their artworks on tour to a number of cities in mainland China. Their intention is to join the Prime Minister John Key’s trade mission to China, as a cultural addition, in late November 2012, as part of the celebrations for the 40th anniversary of China-New Zealand relationship.

When Alan and Lillian presented their special calligraphy to the Prime Minister recently, they shared some of their thoughts, ideas, and future plans for creating additional works of art and further exhibitions. It was also a unique opportunity for them to inform Mr. Key of their future intentions regarding the auctioning of some of their works for the benefit of New Zealand / Chinese charities. Alan and Lillian have created hundreds of artworks and calligraphy over the past 35 years, but they have never sold any of them, except for a few which have been auctioned from time to time for charitable purposes.

At the same meeting, they also informed the Prime Minister of their long term goal to establish their New Zealand Art & Calligraphy Foundation to which they can gift their collection.
