Calligraphy exhibition opens in Omsk

Possession of a calligraphy skill may complement the artistic image. Also calligraphy is often referred to when creating logos, writings or designs of various kinds.

“This exhibit will unite and display contemporary achievements of artists from various contemporary calligraphy fields, including lettering, book printing, easel and commercial art”, says the Omsk House of Artist. “This project has already been demonstrated in Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk with some more large Russian locations, such as Kazan and Krasnoyarsk, to follow. “Calligraphy of the 12” in Omsk is the first full-scale exhibition of this kind at a professional venue of the Union of Artists of Russia for the last 20 years”.

The project will see calligraphy artists from Saint-Petersburg, Moscow region (Korolev), Omsk, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk and Slovak Republic. Among others, the exhibit will display Chinese hieroglyphic and Arabic scripts, and will show a new area in word creation, the so called koloslovs.

Calligraphy of the 12 exhibition will open on August 23 at 17:00 in the exhibition space of the House of Artist, and will run until September 5.
