Calligraphy Contest held in Mongolia

The 17th Annual National Contest in Mongolian Traditional Calligraphy was held in Ulan Bator. The contest is organized by the Khumuun Bichig newspaper published by Montsame News Agency.

Over a thousand people from the capital and nineteen aimaks of the country participated in the contest. The contest in beautiful handwriting has six nominations to select the best calligrapher in each category.

Thus, Mongen Ts Dar, a student of 11th grade, took first place among the secondary school students, second and third places were awarded to the high school students: aimak Arhangai E. Nyamzhargal, a student of Soum Khairkhan school and aimak Khovd G. Urgamal, a student of Tsast Altai school. The winners have received certificates and also the opportunity to be enrolled in any of the selected state university of the country on a budgetary basis.

There were also prizewinners selected among professors, adult participants of the contest, in the Calligraphy nomination and other categories.
