Over the last weekend an unusual workshop took place at our museum: for our visitor Olga it was also a Birthday party.
It’s not the first time that our visitors choose to celebrate their birthday practicing calligraphy. Olga was one of those for whom inviting close friends to try their hand at the art of fine writing in the refined museum atmosphere was just the right idea to celebrate her Birthday.
Calligrapher Artyom Lebedev helped the participants recollect the long-forgotten practice of pointed pen writing, explaining the basics of the Copperplate script. He also made a beautiful inscription on a custom-made museum greeting card which we gave to Olga as a present to make the date more special.
We invite everyone to join this fine tradition of celebrating your memorable days with calligraphy. It will definitely be something to remember!
When there are no words left, the meaning is still preserved.
