Artwork on a grain of rice dedicated to the Emir

Iraqi calligrapher Hamid Al Saady has created a miniature artwork dedicated to the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day.

Al Saady has inscribed on a grain of rice the verse «Tamim is a bouquet of flowers and the scent is Qatari.»

The multi-awarded artist is known all over the Arab world for his calligraphic artworks on rice which have featured on television, in newspapers and magazines. The prolific artist has participated in many exhibitions in various countries, including Qatar.

In 2009, he held his fifth exhibition of Arabic calligraphy in Doha. Among his prominent works in the expo was the name of the Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani written on a grain of rice.
