On May 19, 2019, Director of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy Alexey Shaburov met with Mr. Wang Yafeng, a renowned Chinese journalist and leading reporter of the CCTV Channel, as a part of Shaburov’s business trip to Beijing. А graduate of the faculty of art in Henan University, Wang Yafeng serves as a member of the board in the Chinese Scholar Society for Applied Arts and also holds the position of the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Fine Arts, Calligraphy and Photography at the Chinese Society of Radio, Cinema and Television.
Shaburov gave an overview of the developing projects in Moscow, which are designed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of establishing relationships between Russia and China: The Great Russian and Chinese Calligraphy exhibition in the State Duma, scheduled for May 29-31, 2019, and The Great Chinese Calligraphy and Painting exhibition, which will take place between September 20 and 22, 2019, in Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre. Alexey Shaburov and Wang Yafeng also discussed a project for private museums of Russia and China, which will include filming a documentary according to Shaburov's suggestion. Wang Yafeng donated two of his artworks to the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, expressed his hope for the fruitful cooperation, and thanked for the pleasant and interesting meeting.
