A welcoming address from Kyiv to the exhibitors and participants of the Opening Ceremony of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy in Moscow on August 1st, 2008

Vassil Chebanik
Vitaly Mitchenko

Dear friends, fellow-calligraphers!

With deep satisfaction do we congratulate the creators, task force, and first contributors of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, a truly historic project! We would like to thank our colleagues for this educatory idea, which will be developed by other Russian cities and CIS countries where the Old Russian Script is still professed. Such museums are necessary for our children – our future – like the morning dew and healing air. They are of special value to the teachers and students and everyone who wants to try one’s hand in this wonderful art. Your soul mates from Kyiv wish you all huge artistic and pedagogical success!

Sincerely yours,

Vasil Chebanik,
Calligrapher, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Honoured Man of Art of Ukraine, Professor at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (Kyiv)

Vitaliy Mitchenko,
Calligrapher, assistant professor at the Kyiv National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine.

Vasil Chebanik and Vitaly Mitchenko are the participants of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy.
