A calligraphy festival in Yekaterinburg

The Sviter street-art gallery organizes a number of workshops and a calligraphy, lettering and scripts exhibition.

The event that will be held in Yekaterinburg from August 8th to August 9th, 2015, will feature:

— An exhibition of calligraphy showcasing artworks in traditional and contemporary techniques;

— An exhibition of contemporary typescripts (artificial scripts, jobbing types, broadsheets);

— An exhibition of manuscripts (books, albums, display compositions);

— A demonstration of digital scripts, designs, videos;

— Calligraphy workshops for both beginners and connoisseurs. (Note that registration is required for some events!)

— A mini course in lettering, which will help you to learn the difference between lettering and calligraphy, various types of scripts and handwriting, the component parts of letters and how to picture them correctly. You will also learn to arrange the leaf structure and combine various scripts in one artwork.

- Lectures by artists from Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Perm, and Kazan.
