Dmitry Petrovskiy Lecture: “Latin writing from the Roman capitals to the Renaissance antiqua”

September 2, Saturday, Dmitry Petrovsky (St. Petersburg, Russia) will give a lecture on the history of Western European writing from antiquity to the Renaissance.

Petrovsky reads Scripts and Calligraphy at the Colledge of Arts of the Saint Petersburg State University. Member of the National Union of Calligraphers. Participnat of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy project since its inception. Author of the "Visible Verb" series of books on the history of writing and calligraphy, and a number of other publications.

Apart from calligraphy, he does professional photography, often combining these two creative practices in his works. In addition to the lecture, at the 6th International Exhibition of Calligraphy he will present a series of works under the theme of love to one’s native city.
