Representatives of the Moscow Islamic High Council have visited the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy

August 18, 2011 The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy in Moscow’s Sokolniki was visited by representatives of the Moscow Islamic High Council headed by Mufti Albir Krganov, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. The distinguished guests arrived at Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre to inspect pavilions for their event and could not help dropping into the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy.

It turned out that Albir Krganov is well acquainted with Nazip Ismagilov, one of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy project’s participant, member of the Union of Artists of Tatarstan. The Mufti praised the quality of the works by Mr. Ismagilov displayed at the museum. Also, Albir Krganov highly appreciated the lettering style of Dr. Nassar Mansour of Jordan, Doctor of Arts, majoring in Arabic Calligraphy, whose masterpieces are also represented at the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy. Mr. Krganov was impressed by other exhibits, such as the Decalogue, the World Famous Mezuzah and a miniature masterpiece “Calligraphy on a wing of a fly.”

In conclusion, Albir Krganov promised to think over a gift to the Museum and expressed his belief that both the Museum and Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre would be good partners with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Moscow for a long time.
