Presentation of the children’s calligraphy course held in the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy

In our time of computer technologies many parents are worried about their children losing the skill of handwriting. Calligraphy classes can help deal with this problem. And in search of the best for their children, many parents unsurprisingly choose the Basics of Calligraphy course in one of the oldest calligraphy schools in Russia, the National School of Calligraphy. Since 2010, over 700 students graduated from the school working at the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy. People are attracted by the school’s traditions, the classical educational programme ant the high professional level of the teachers.

On May 28, 2016 a presentation of the children’s course was held, where the school’s teacher Artyom Lebedev introduced to the public the curriculum, the main themes and requirements of the course. He followed his words with a demonstration of practical writing skills, and the kids and their parents had a chance to try their hand at the Copperplate script.

The course will start the coming autumn with the basics of pointed pen writing and the techniques of writing lower-case English cursive letters.

After the presentation parents could enroll their children to the course.

The classes in the children’s group at the National School of Calligraphy will begin in October 2016.

Enrollment to the National School of Calligraphy will continue through the summer.
