On May 29, Alexey Shaburov, Director of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, met with the management of the Marilena Ferrari publishers in Rome.
Marilena Ferrari is not an ordinary publishing house. To be more precise, it is a most extraordinary institution, founded after the merger of the Art'e publishing house and the FMR publishers, established in 1964. It is unique due to its vibrant editions. Their books are the result of laborious intellectual and manual effort. The books published by Marilena Ferrari can be found on the desk of the Pope, the leading politicians and illustrious artists. As they say at Marilena Ferrari, “We do not merely create art books that describe and illustrate beauty, but books that generate beauty.”
The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy has recently turned a new page in the Marilena Ferrari chronicles. One of the participants of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy has executed a special commission for Marilena Ferrari. We will be able to reveal the details of this work a bit later.
During the negotiations, the representatives of Marilena Ferrari expressed their wish to visit our exhibition. We are also negotiating the possibility of Marilena’s participation in the Second International Exhibition of Calligraphy.
