Sokolniki Park

Image

Sokolniki Park is one of the oldest and largest parks in the capital, a unique complex of natural and national culture, a monument of park art. It was named after tsars’ and grand dukes’ falconries (falcon in Russian is ‘sokol’) that were held ages ago at this location, in the thick forest.

Every weekend it is visited by tens of thousands of Muscovites and guests of the capital. The park puts forth its best effort to arrange new events on the weekends to maintain its reputation of the oldest and one of the cosiest parks in Moscow.

The park area, which has grown and been updated significantly in recent years, is arranged in such a way that will ensure anyone can find an activity to their liking – extreme or lounge areas, dance and live music shows, museums and sport recreation, as well as numerous hobby clubs.
