As the II International Exhibition of Calligraphy attracts more and more attention, its agenda accumulates new items and outstanding artists.
On November 7 we expect a new participant to our master-classes: meet Yulia Larionova, member of the Art Critics Association, culture expert, and journalist. For a long time Julia has been studying the Buddhist and Far Eastern culture and arts. She will introduce a topic entitled “Calligraphy and painting: unity in contradiction”. It tells about cultural and traditional mutual influence; Yulia will demonstrate calligraphy works, paintings, art pieces made of bronze, and the Four Treasures of the Study…
Yulia Larionova’s presentation will take place on Saturday November 7 at 6 pm, pavilion 7a.
On November 8 the master-classes program boasts Grigory Marakuyev, an icon painter and calligrapher who writes in the XV-XVII century Old Russian script.
Since the XVIII century experts have considered the Old Russian script as something frozen and old fashioned.
“The Old Russian script is real hot stuff” is the name of the live performance by Grigory Marakuyev.
It will take place on Sunday November 8 at 6 pm, Pavilion #7a.
