July 25 to August 10 Typetersburg, the first international festival of type design, takes place in St. Petersburg. It is the first international event in ST. Petersburg themed around type design, typography, lettering and calligraphy. For two weeks, Petersburg has turned into Typetersburg – the center of global type design.
The festival program features exhibitions and workshops from renowned foreign designers, and the festival will be highlighted by the lecture weekend of August 6 and 7, taking place at the Manezh central exhibition hall and on St. Isaac square.
The conference will feature talks by famous type designers and artists from Denmark, Finland, Ukraine and Russia.

The festival is organized by the School of Type Design founded in St. Pete two years ago and dedicated to preparing professional type designers.
The festival is held in partnership with Paratype, FontLab, the Finnish Embassy, and Dansk Kultur-Institut.
