Dear friends!
On behalf of the team of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy I congratulate you on the New Year of 2016!
The ending year of 2015 was rich in events. The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy held the Fifth International Exhibition of Calligraphy and a big solo exhibition of the calligrapher Vitaly Shapovalov. Within the framework of the exhibitions a number of exciting master classes have been organized and were conducted by calligraphers from Russia, India, the USA, Korea, and other countries. We are very pleased that more and more world-renowned calligraphers are joining our projects. More than 30 authors from different countries for the first time participated in the Fifth International Exhibition of Calligraphy.
Our museum supplies various educational activities. For several years the School of National Calligraphy for children and adults has been conducted on the basis of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy. Throughout its existence there have been more than 70 groups. Next year we will open a new course in calligraphy. In March 2016 a course will begin in lettering. This course focuses on the drawing of letters.
The educational and charitable activities of the museum includes the organization of excursions during which it is possible to travel the world and learn about the culture of different peoples through the mysterious art of calligraphy. Participants of master classes can also try their hand at writing calligraphic letters. I believe that in the era of gadgets the art of calligraphy is of exceptional importance for the promotion of handwriting.
The team of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy wishes you that in the year of 2016 there were only good events, good news and good deeds! All the best to you and your loved ones!
Happy New Year!
