The first lesson of the children’s calligraphy course was held last Saturday at the National school of calligraphy. As the lesson began the students were presented with Young Calligrapher’s Package containing the instruments and materials necessary for studying.
The group teacher Artyom Lebedev showed the children the proper sitting position and the way to hold the pen. He also explained to the parents how to help their children with the studies and to encourage their interest in calligraphy. The lesson continued with some exercises aimed at getting used to the instruments and materials. The young students learned to draw vertical and horizontal strokes and to link them into characters.
Lessons of the children’s group will be held on Saturdays till the end of April, 2016.
Parallel to the current children’s course the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy announces enrollment to the 2016-2017 children’s course for children aged 8 to 12.
