The Calligraphy Gallery Is Gathering Momentum

On March 20-21, 2008, participants of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy introduced their works to be presented at the Calligraphy Gallery within the framework of the Euro Expo Furniture Exhibition (May 14-17, 2008, Moscow). Calligraphers Yevgeny Dobrovinsky (Moscow) and Pavel Semchenko (Belarus) discussed possible exhibiting plans. Their meeting with the project coordinators at the Sokolniki MEC headquarters was held in a friendly atmosphere. The two colleagues shared their views on the project preparations. Professor Semchenko had brought the works of his colleagues, his former students, representing different calligraphic trends. However, the most expressive art piece by Pavel Semchenko was a 30-metre long scroll, the result of his long diligent work. It contains his everyday calligraphic exercises, which the calligrapher had done for several weeks. All these calligraphic works will be exhibited in May.
