Steve Jobs and Calligraphy

This fact was first mentioned in Steve Jobs' commencement speech at Stanford University in June 2005. After dropping out of college he took classes in calligraphy where he was first introduced to different typefaces, techniques and subtle artistry of calligraphy. Back then it seemed a useless course for him to take up. But 10 years later its ideas lay the foundations of the typography design of the first Macintosh computer. As Windows follows the same thing, we can say Steve Jobs’ calligraphy lessons form the founding stone of today's PC fonts and typography.

The following words of Steve Jobs' speech touch the deepest cords of heart,
“Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”
