From Font To Poster exhibition by Yuri Gulitov
From Font To Poster exhibition by Yuri Gulitov will take place in the Kroshitsky Art Museum in Sevastopol (Nakhimov Avenue 9) starting on September 15th.
According to Kulturny Sevastopol, it will demonstrate about two dozens paper offsetting, silk-screening and digital printing works. The artist focuses on the Cyrillic alphabet, artistic calligraphy, experimental typography and posters. Yuri Gulitov is a founder of Gulitovdizayn studio, lead teacher of the designer art workshop in graduate school of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, and supervisor of Khersones studio school (Moscow-Sevastopol).
The artist possesses his unique idiom, which is distinguished by a special dynamic expression and elements of graphical folklore. Yuri Gulitov is a winner of multiple high-profile professional awards, including six times laureate of the Golden Bee Moscow Art and Design Biennale in Logos (1996), Fonts (1996), Posters (2000, 2004, 2014) and Calligraphy (2006) nominations; winner of the honourable mention at the International Poster Invitational Exhibition in Fort-Collins, Colorado (2009); winner of the special Icograda Excellence Award at the ZGRAF11 International Art and Design Triennial (2012).
