Sakura will blossom with a bunch of creative colours at the Sokolniki Museum-Educational Complex
In April, the Muscovites and guests of the city will be able to participate in Hanami (“flower contemplation”), an ancient Japanese festivity. The first spring festival of Japanese culture will last as long as sakura blossoms – for one week from April 14th to April 19th. Visitors will be able to enjoy the view of the blossoming trees and variability of the national cultural heritage of the Land of the Rising Sun.
According to the idea of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy, the National Union of Calligraphers and Sokolniki MEC, the project organizers, the festival is going to represent all kinds of Japanese art, which are developing in Moscow thanks to the Russian lovers of Japanese culture.
The festival starts simultaneously with presentation of a new exclusive pavilion. Despite spacious interior, the pavilion is cozy and comfortable, and thereby promises to become an ideal platform for realization of any challenging project requiring large scale and amicable and pleasant atmosphere. We hope that an ultra-modern, exquisitely and stylishly designed exhibition space decorated in ethnic style will make a perfect platform for realization of all the planned events of the festival.
The festival opening ceremony will take place on February 14th, 2009 at 02.00 pm
