Monogram Master-Class

On October 20th, 2013 the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy will host a master-class on the art of the monogram. Svetlana Andreyeva, member of the Professional Union of Artists of Russia will be hosting and moderating the event. The guests will ponder the following topics:

• The History of the monogram
• What is a monogram?
• What are the distinctive features of the monogram?
• Types of the monogram;
• Types of the technique;
• Types of calligraphic utensils;
• What does plastique stand for in calligraphy?
• Compositional solutions for an individual commission;
• A recommended set of exercises to develop plastique in calligraphy.

It is noteworthy that currently Svetlana’s works are on display not only in Russia, but also in Germany, Italy, France, USA, and South Korea.
