Master-class by Kim Jong Chil

On Sunday Kim Jong Chil, an eminent Korean calligrapher, conducted an exclusive master-class for the guests of the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy. In the beginning, Yang Min Jong, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre under the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Russia gave a talk on Korean culture. Then Kim Jong Chil demonstrated his skill and taught the basics of beautiful handwriting, emphasizing the right grip of the brush, stamina distribution, and the right choice of ink. The participants agreed that it’s really hard to work with a brush, ultimate focus of attention is essential.
