Lecture on Islamic handwritten book is to be held in Moscow

I.V. Zaytsev, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Counsellor of Director General of the Library for Foreign Literature is to hold a lecture on Islamic Handwritten Book at M. I. Rudomino All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature (Main entrance, 4th floor, 1, Nikoloyamskaya st., Moscow) on February 12th.

According to the organizers, the lecture will provide exciting information on the diverse world of Islamic writing culture; will describe the art origins of handwritten book in Islam, about handwritings and writing utensils, calligraphy and techniques used to design medieval manuscripts.

The lecture will start at 5 pm at the Hall of Collections.
