Lecture on calligraphy and typography in St. Petersburg
Friday, August 12, the Open Salon of the Lermontov Central Library in St. Petersburg will host calligrapher and graphic artist Yuliana Morgun, who will give a lecture on calligraphy and typography.
The lecture titled “The art of artificial scripts and handwritten letters” will feature such topics as the origins and evolution of letters; calligraphy instruments and styles; typeface components; and lettering, or the art of handmade letter compositions. Participants will also get a chance to try and put to practice what they’ve just learned.
The event starts at 6.30 pm; admission is free.
