Kazan residents will learn the basics of the Old Russian calligraphy

On September 25th both locals and guests of the capital of Tatarstan will get a chance to connect with domestic culture of the past ages – the old Russian calligraphy master-class will take place in Kazan.

The visitors will master using a slim pen and drawing various typographic arrangements, learn methods for fine decoration of text and get directly in touch with art, design and draftsmanship.

"The calligraphy is not mere fine paintings with letters but a driving force for human development. On the tips of your thumb, index and second fingers that we use for writing with a pen, the nerve cells with intense connection to your brain are located, - says the official website of the Kazan Kremlin museum-reserve. – By activating those we improve our speech, thinking and awareness as well as shape the essential character traits such as patience, diligence, neatness or accuracy. The calligraphy helps unlock your personality."

The master class will be held in the Annunciation Cathedral History Museum in the Kazan Kremlin at 11 AM.
