An official opening of the first exhibition by Chinese calligraphers will take place at the Presidential Library named after Boris Yeltsin in Saint Petersburg on October 2nd. It will present seventy five works by famous Chinese masters.
The exposition is timed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China. It is divided into four themed blocks: Traditions of the Northern Capital, Charms of the City, Lovely Village and Eco-culture. According to the organizers, the artists’ works reveal the distinctive beauty of the Chinese art, the elegance of an ancient capital and features of modern China, rapid changes of picturesque villages, the violently growing ecological culture and rich history of Beijing.
The press service of the Presidential Library reported to the Telegraph newspaper that the event will be attended by representatives of the Consulate General of China in Saint Petersburg, the State Museum St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Union of Artists of St. Petersburg and others.
According to the event’s organizers «the exposition will demonstrate the mutual interest of both parties to the Chinese-Russian friendship and will become another outstanding event in history».
