The Russian State Children Library hosted a New Year festival on December 24, where the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy held a holiday workshop for children to write a letter to Ded Moroz. Painstaking art of calligraphy links the contemporary to the old age tradition of handwritten greetings.
Talented calligraphy artist and designer Yana Myshekop led the workshop to help resolve any decoration difficulties and share the tricks of the trade. In the environment of magic participants dived into composing fine letters, making words with freshly mastered elements.
The experience proved to enjoy all ages: adults recalled their childhood and children acquired some new skills – everyone could find their way to self-express creatively, learn the Old Russian writing style and get inspired.
