Chelyabinsk Arts and Culture Academy to Launch Calligraphy Courses

Chelyabinsk residents shall now have a chance to master the art of calligraphy. The town’s Arts and Culture Academy is launching training courses for those eager to learn the ways of the art of the beautiful handwriting, Chelyabinsk Diocese press service announced. Pyotr Chobitko, member of the Union of Artists of Russia, is to arrive from St. Petersburg to personally conduct the classes.

Pyotr Chobitko is President of the National Union of Calligraphers and an active participant in the International Exhibition of Calligraphy project; within the framework thereof his masterpieces were showcased in St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Veliky Novgorod. Besides, Pyotr Chobitko masterpieces are part of the Contemporary museum of calligraphy permanent collection (Sokolniki Park, Moscow). Maestro’s greatest chef d’oeuvre is the handwritten copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
