March 15th, the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy hosted a charity tour for members of the Yuzhnoportovy social service centre.
Traditionally the visitors were offered a museum tour covering the permanent exposition of the museum. Senior visitors listened with interest to the explanations offered by the guide, showing interest to many particular works, their meaning and stories of creation. Seeing the beautiful lettering compositions, many of them reflected on the days when they practiced handwriting with pen and ink in their youth. Whereas others shared their concern for their grandchildren with their unintelligible handwriting. After the tour the visitors expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the museum founder, Alexey Shaburov, and for offering such a possibility to get to know this beautiful art. Some of the visitors even left inspired by the idea of studying calligraphy.
