Calligraphy influences fine cerebration

In the course of negotiations with professor Valery Slyozin, Head of the Neuropsychophysiological Laboratory under the Bekhterev Psychoneurological Research & Development Institute in Saint Petersburg, Sokolniki MEC reached an agreement to conduct research in order to understand how calligraphy influences fine cerebration.

Calligraphy is not merely beautiful handwriting, but a process influencing our fine motor skills. Calligraphy studies help develop the frontal lobes of the brain which are not usually active when writing with a ball-point pen. We hope that this research will give a positive proof of such beneficial impact.

The research results will become the core subject for a conference of the world leading specialists on cerebration processes that is going to be held within the framework of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy.
