Calligrapher Vladimir Popov Will Be Awarded Faizhanov Prize

The awarding ceremony for the winners of the Faizhanov Prize in education, science and culture for the year of 2014 will take place on the 12th of December in Moscow, within the framework of the Х International Muslim Forum called ‘The Mission of Religion and Responsibility of Its Followers in the Face of Modern Challenges’. It should be noted that this year , the Faizhanov Prize in culture will be awarded to a famous artist, calligrapher and veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Vladimir Popov, «for the outstanding contribution to the revival and development of Muslim calligraphy tradition, strengthening of international relations and promotion of Islamic values in the global culture, uniting peoples with the help of art and on the occasion of his 90th birthday».

Awards to Popov and 2 other winners, Gulfiya Habibullina and Dmitry Arapov, will be presented by Mufti Ravil hazrat Gainutdin.
