Azerbaijani artist amazes people with calligraphy on wood
Seyfettin Mensimoğlu, an Azerbaijani calligraphy artist performs his works on wood instead of on paper which draws great attention.
Seventy-nine year old artist first began calligraphy on wood at the age of 61. Since then, the successful artist has participated in many international exhibitions, including Topkapı Palace in İstanbul.
Mensimoğlu explained that he generally prefers wood out of walnut tree and applies some hadiths (sayings of Prophet Muhammad) or quotes by Nizami Gencevi Muhammad Fuzuli and Dede Korkut. The artist has lots of students from all ages.
