Artist from the Celestial Empire will teach Chinese painting to Tomsk residents

In September, the Confucius Institute at Tomsk State University (TSU) will open free courses of Chinese painting for Tomsk residents taught by a professional artist from China, a member of the institute commented. "The courses are absolutely free. There is no age limit: we invite everyone interested including children. All the materials will be provided”, she said.

According to her, the classes will be taught twice a week in small groups of 8 people by a teacher from China invited specially. "We have brought the artist specially from China, the young lady came here to teach painting and calligraphy. This is a one-year course and its completion will be confirmed by a certificate" the member of the institute added.

Confucius Institute at TSU was inaugurated on May 28th, 2008, in order to strengthen the cooperation between the PRC and the Russian Federation in the sphere of education, to enhance mutual understanding of the nations of Russia and China, and to support and extend the study of the Chinese language.
