The aim of the Russian educational portal (www.school.edu.ru) is to improve the quality and affordability of Russian education.  The portal was created as a kind of consortium which members unite the information resources and share them with the entire educational community.

Among the primary aims of the Portal are modernization of the Russian educational system through provision of students, teachers, administrators, parents and general public with information on all kinds of educational services and products, normative documents (including formal texts), educational events. The consortium members will work on the high quality of the Portal resources, their reliability, update and information capacity; availability of the information resources for the entire sphere of education; Internet access for the general education community; opportunity to make a statement for all the educational institutions and creative teachers; interactive communication, free opinion sharing, discovery of needs, interests and tendencies in the educational community.
