The Repin State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture of St. Petersburg will host the International Exhibition of Calligraphy on Tuesday.
The organizers have reported that the citizens and guests of Saint-Petersburg will see a unique exhibition embodying more than 350 masterpieces of the number one representatives of calligraphy schools from 24 countries.
“The Exhibition will demonstrate items representing the past and present. Today’s collection has 250 exhibits. Among them are the most fascinating, yet unexplored, samples of Slavic writing, historical manuscripts from all over the world, rare letters and documents, belonging to the Romanovs, the noble family of Russia, and taken from the vaults of the State Historical Museum,” the organizers shared.
All exhibition visitors will obtain a bigger picture of the magnificent gallery of rare, scarce and unseen manuscripts and miniature books from private collections. Besides this, they will see writing materials and utensils of all ages. Moreover, they will be able to scrupulously examine modern originals and distinct samples of applied calligraphy.
The first handwritten copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation is an exclusive must-see. This is the original constitution manuscript that has ever existed. It is a result of the collective efforts and vision of a talented team comprised of professional calligraphers and publishers. Sophisticated and refined, the folio was presented on September 17th during the official opening ceremony. No doubt, it is destined to become a valuable addition to the collection of the exhibition items.
