The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy celebrates its 1st anniversary since its founding on August 14th. This day the museum hosts the official ceremony.
The Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy is Russia’s first museum dedicated to calligraphy; it was established under the auspices of the National Union of Calligraphers and Sokolniki ECC. It is officially a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
From October 14th to November 14th the Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy is hosting the world’s largest exhibition of calligraphy in Moscow.
The exposition will demonstrate: the first and only handwritten copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the handwritten Charter of the National Union of Calligraphers, the Decalogue, Calligraphy on a Wing of a Fly, and collection editions. A World Famous Mezuzah, the only chef d’oeuvre of sacred Hebrew calligraphy, executed by a famous Israeli calligrapher Avraham Borshevsky, will become the main surprise.
These works of the world’s calligraphy will be opened for the audience after the formal part of the event: from 2.00 pm – 7.00 pm. Entrance is free of charge.
