Napoleon I Bonaparte is a French general and politician. Emperor of France (in 1804-1814 and March-June 1815). In 1799 he engineered a coup and became the first consul; in 1804 he was crowned as the Emperor. He extended the territory of the Empire and made most West and Central European countries conditional to France. In 1814 he abdicated. Was crowned again in 1815. After his defeat at Waterloo (June 1815) he was exiled to St Helena Island.
